Cheju Island





Harubangs are the stoned grandfathers which are produced from lava stone. They are the most famous souvenirs from Cheju Island. The purpose of the figures is on the other hand still matter of anthropologic discussions. They probably were some kind of guards for villages, but there are even discussed parallels to the mysterious stone figures on the Easter Islands.
